i was pulled over......

yesterday i was pulled over by the campus police in nite.... i was returnin frm eatin at burger king and i saw the flashin lites behind me jst us i entered the campus.... i was thinkin did i jump the stop sign??or did i speed??oooh ya gettin a speedin ticket goin in 30mph wilb the horriblest things tht can happen to me when i have driven at 110 n 120 without a tkt...... the cop guy pulled behind me with his search lite n asked me to come out with my license,regist n insurance.... n as i walked towards the back of my car to the front of cop car, i heard my name thru his radio being said in the best possible way they can pronounce.... they checked my license plate n already did the cross check tht it wasnt stolen or smehting....... the big cop guy came towards me checked my license.. n asked if i was a student n where i stay... i said my address and showed my school id..... he asked if i had sme weapons n i almost laughed....me tht too carrying a gun....nonsense.....he asked if i knew y i was pulled over i said no..... he said i dont have any tail lights..... then i noticed my tail lights are gone..... i thght oooh ya here comes a ticket in a platter...... i tried to reason with him.....which according to my profs i m tooooooo good..... i said i didnt knw i jst saw it n i will get it fixed soon n all i could think at tht time.... he said he was supposed to issue me a tkt n i need to take it garage n get it fixed n bring it bak to court to get it checked n get my tkt off...... i said please sir dont do tht.....he said how will i trust u... i pleaded to him with what all promises i can make....n he some how said ( mayb he felt sorry cing a innocent face of mine he he he ) he will let me go but he will follow me to my apartment till i park it n promise not to take it out in dark again till i get it fixed...... i gladlyt accepted the offer.... n i was given police escort till my apartment.... once there he left only after i locked my car n a word tht this is the first time he is so forgivin mind.....THANK GOD........ i said thanks n waved him off.....phew tht was close.... n a tkt would have made my list complete of a torturing week.....
i always liked the flashin lites...but yesterday i understood tht i dont like it anymore when i see it in my rearview mirror!!!!!!!!

LSU football

i m writing this in middle of the LSU football season n v have kick started our beautifully...LSU started the season sitting on rank #2...thanks to the recruits and the players v hve....
right now v r (4-0).... yesterday was one of the toughest games for us... but still v won (28-16)...univ of s carolina was the first team this season to score more than a touchdown this season..... i m njoyig the season n hopefully v could keep up this performance n get to the championship bowl which is to be held in superdome in new orleans......
n whats happening to me thru all this time.... i have been busy with my thesis work....trying in hard to write down a proposal.... n have succeded in smesort... have submitted by ruf copy to my prof last week... i wish to pickup speed in my work... n let God help me in tht....
and for the records..............today is my best friend's vijith's birthday...................

my meeting with the BOSS

yesterday was the eventful day tht i met the BOSS himself ..... rajnikant ... ( when i said i met him it was on screen) ........... i went to c shivaji the boss yesterday...... it wasnt a great movie or anything but.... i njoyed it.......the fun of being with a bunch of tamil friends who njoy alot cing the stylemannan on screen......
the movie was abt a american returned software architect ( !!!!!!!!!!!!) who doesnt knw what a CPR is.....and had a job which helped him to save 700 crore indian rupee..................... hard to digest but in spite of all this njoyed the movie thanx to my friends , the punchlines of rajni n stylish sankar 's presentation of his movies......the awesome thing abt the movie is vivek...... he is really great with good comedy and he did provide a good support to the movie....

right now i m in Baton Rouge,Louisiana,US n been here for abt 2 years.... n the one thing i hate abt this country is tht it is ruled by the food chains.............so no variety for my taste buds...n so i would like to bend the rule a bit to five local dishes i like......
to start the cajun food is the best u can get for an indian somewhere close to the spice n hotness of indian food.....
1. the jambalaya.....it is traditionally made in one pot, with meats and vegetables, and is completed by adding rice
2. the gumbo...more like a soupy kind of stuff...n the chicken gumbo which i get in my school cafeteria reminds me of the chicken curry which my mom used to make......
3. blackened alligator meat of the Chimes restaurant near the campus..... its basically the meat of alligator....deep fried...
4.poboys n hamburgers in the roul's deli on the north gate of the LSU campus......he makes the best n also the spiciest to match the indian taste buds poboys....
and to round it up....
5. the chicken fingers of the baton rouge special cane's..... cane's was started by a couple of LSU students n their cane's sauce is well known and a weel guarded recipe.....n they serve their food with lemonade which tastes jst like the ones v used to get at the small shops or murukan kadaas in kerala.........
n now comes the hardest part of the lot....part of me taggin others.... nobody knws abt my blog as i started it just as a medium to jst say it open what happened in my life when i m in a mood to talk to someone or jst write down smething.... so i guess i will jst tag me, me , me , me and me....... there goes the 5...............

my experience with a tennis racquet!!!!!!!!!!

its been a month since i started to play tennis n i m likin the game.... i used to watch the grand slams in TV but never had a chance to try it as it was a rich kid's game back in India...comin to US for my studies introduced me to two new sports which i could play - racquetball n tennis....and tht too with out spending much money..the univ REC gave the racquets for free...i loved racquetball as it was easier of the two where as tennis needed alot of patience n hard work.... RB u can jst hit the ball n make sure tht it reach the wall....but tennis was a different ball game.....so i stopped tennis n started to play more of RB n i loved it but tht love changed since a month as i was bght back to tennis by my roommmate....now i play more of tennis n i loving the work out n sweat dripping along.....

thoma the great!!!!!!!!!

i was readin one of my friends blog n he mentioned the variuos funny incidents in his school life.... i havent enjoyed my school life much as i studied in a school jst oppoasite to my home....n if i did smething wrong it will reach my mom even b4 i get home in the evening....so i was a good boy in school....he he he he and as i reached college i lived those years too tht i missed in school....vijith n thomas were my companions in my eventful 4 years....... v have driven our bikes frm trivandrum to cochin n kottayam without tellin home.... those were the best days of my life.....and as i was saying i have decided to put up sme incidents in my blog frm my golden days in CET....
one day i was riding pillion to thoma in his bike in one of our no destination knwn rides in the city( n to introduce thomas...he looks like a northeast guy n everyone mistakes him for one) and thoma is well knwn for his carelessness while driving.... he accidently took a no entry road and was caught by one of the rare well aware traffic cop....n he started to question us as he was reaching for his ticket book....n somehow he asked me if thoma is not frm kerala....cing tht chance i tried to get hold of it i said ya he is not frm here n he doesnt knw malayalam n he didnt knw tht it was one way n all.....n cing our innocent faces he felt sorry for us n said v can leave n he warned us to b careful n look for signs....and jst as v were abt to leave thoma opened his mouth n said..."nandi ondu sir....ini mellal avarthikyathilla...." aa policekaaran jhetti therichu.....and i used the well knwn dialogue frm the mallu movie..."vittoda thomaskutty"....yentemmo inganeyum oru mandan......

happy birthday to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its my bday today n i turn 27.......... 27!!!!!!!!!officially i m on my late 20's....!!phew... wen i was jst abt to enter my teens i used to c my elder cousins who were on their late 20's i used to think ther r really grown ups.... but me right now in the same situation i jst dont feel so..... i m still the old confused guy who doesnt want to think abt his future much stay with the go-cool-attitude..... still loves wht i used to love before....not mch change in my view of life n its philosophy....then wht the hell should i think tht i change as i grow up.........
its been an eventful year for me not of any disatrous or stressful kind as it was the previous year... i wish n pray to God tht my life stays good with good health n desire to work n reach my goals........

my smokie trip.....

here i m after the superb n eventful smokies trip..... it was a nice trip, brought bak a lotz of memories of kerala .... green everywhere.... was so glad to c so much green......... the creeks reminded me of ponmudi......... no lots more.....
i loved the white water rafting.... the adrenalin flow feelin was awesome... i was thrown out of the raft as the raft hit a deep ditch n was lucky tht santosh sittin with me grab me by ankle n pulled me bak..... got shit scared for smetime.......................... but i was a rare kinda xperience.........

another of my first...again!!!!!!!!

i m goin thru a lotz of first this year....... this time is my first traffic ticket.........this was a parking violation i recieved back on february n today was the court day......... the offense was i parked on the kerb and the story was it was a event day n everyone was parked everywhere.... n right benaeath the no parking board n funny tht he didnt get a tkt..... what to do...karma!!!!!!!!!!
as i was saying went to the court and pleaded guilty on the offense thou i wanted to plead not gulity n contest the ticket but lazyness to come again n mayb what my friends usually accuses me of..doesnt care how i spend money.........anyways i paid 40$ as it being my first offense.........
hopefully wilb more careful................

my road trip!!!!!!!!!

n here i m successfully completed my road trip n tht too without any tickets thou i touched 120mph at certain areas.........this has been my coolest trip ever... i drove for 3 days...30 hrs of drivin time and covered around 2200 miles........ i had great fun........he travelled across texas, new mexico,arizona and finally california......on reaching L.A v drove up to SFo thru I-5......n i hve to mention tht initial 50 miles of I-5 was the beautifulest of the whole drive....... i was surprised to c tht there was no life practically in many parts of texas n arizona....saw the huge cactuses in arizona...vineyards n orange grooves in calif...gigantic windmills trying to get energy......cops issuin tickets...... n all...... was happy to c speedlimit of 80 in the deserted areas of texas.... stayed in motels on the way n needless to say both were owned by gujjus.........v stopped for food n gas.... n in the restareas which were the first in each states....... ate frm small grandma shops as much as possible..... had xcellent wings in a gas station thou tht guy cheated with his gas...........
i will cherish this trip for a long time.... n waitin xcitedly for the next one.....most probably willb to smoky mountains..........

road trip.....

here i m getting ready for my roadtrip...... its the longest drive i have ever planned..... 2200 miles stretching for about 30hrs of drive alone..... n i m really xcited for it.... plannin to leave in an hour or so...... i m goin to sanfransisco to my friends place to give his car........
wilb driving across texas,new mexico,arizona n then to california............... if everythig goes according to planned and with God's Grace i wilb reaching the destination by sunday nite......
i wilb back with my report on the drive as soon as i come back.....

abt the states of US..

today one of my friends asked me if i can list all the states of US..... i tried n i could manage 48...n just then in the evening i happened to c friends in which chandler asks ross to list the same......i just was thinkin... me being an alien will find difficulty but will a american find it same????...speakin of the states i just was trying to make a list of states i have visited (at least one place in the state)......here is the list....

another of my first

n thus came another of my "first"...... this time it was a baseball match......it was a very boring thing.... was a bit xcited to c a new game though i knew the rules ,never played or watched one........ but i was really xcited to c the crowd as there were all old people n little kids all around me.........didnt knw tht this was an oldman's game....... i left the match midway......it was so boring....no regrets as the tickets was given to me by a friend for free....... he he he he he he
my spring break is coming up on april first week... i dunno what i will do.... want to go texas a& m to meet one of my friends but dont knw if it will work out or not....this weekend v r having st.patricks day...... n sme parade is goin on... i dunno wht the day is abt....need to google it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mardi gras time.....

this post has been long overdue...... the mardi gras was fun than the last time...this time it was a bigger group than last time..last time it was just me n my roomate.... this time it was 8 people n it was fun... the crowd was bigger .... the last time being jst after the hurricane n all...... n this time it was a saturday nite.... it was fun...the floats were nice n so was the "show" in Bourbon street.....
the time is sure flying its been almost two years since i came to US....pheeeeeeeeeewwww!!!!!!!!!
i dont have much work goin around me......little bit lazy n all................hope its different for the comin months....

the dog parade....

hey.. there was this cute parade goin on in the downtown of Baton Rouge during the last sunday it was a mimic of the mardi gras parade with dogs.. it was actually a fund raiser for animal shelter n if u want to b a part of the parade u need to pay a fee which goes for the animal shelter funds.....it was good n i njoyed it more........saw many dogs dresses up as pirates n all..... it was a kind of cute.......n the whole of louisiana is gettin ready for the mardi gras coming weekend n my first experience at mardi gras last year was good n i wish to go this time too..........n with a larger group of friends...lets c how it goes.......

i m back.....

a new year n wonderful memories r the treasures i brght back crossing the seas( courtesy an old mallu song).... i had a wonderful n awesome holidays at home.....goin around with friends, bike rides, home food ( the best part of it is tht u dont need to cook jst sit n call out food....)...........n there was also the main attraction of my india trip...wedding of one of my best friend's..... it was awesome runnin around n all..... had pretty good fun...... i had been missin lots of my friends' weddin since i was too far frm home n this one i had decided not to miss at any cost.......it was great to b back in tvm where u knw each corner n u wont get lost......happy to b sweatin n travellnin in muddy roads all those........i LOVED everything......
